Industrial Training
Through its association with the Ministry of Steel, the Institute has
established a strong linkage with different Industries. The courses of
studies have been designed keeping in mind the need of the Industries
and also in consultation with the relevant Industries. The Institute
offers consultancy services for the modernization and support of small
to medium sized companies and associated upstream and downstream
Industries. The training and placement wing of the Institute assists
the students in obtaining the appropriate industrial training during
and after the academic programs at the Institute.

Students of Professional Diploma in Iron & Steel
Manufacturing & Management were sent to the different Sponge Iron
production units as part of their course work as industrial training
from 16th to 22nd of May 2005(one week).

Students of Professional Diploma in Iron & Steel
Manufacturing & Management were sent to Rourkela Steel Plant as a
part of their industrial practical training from 10th of
December 2005 to 11th of February 2006. The training
included in depth Project Study in Coke Ovens, Blast Furnace, LD
Converters, Rolling Mills, Maintenance, Process Control & Automation,
Research & Control Laboratory, Welding & Fabrication workshop.
